Transliteration of Urdu and Hindi as used in this Forum To help the learners, the older members of this forum loosely agreed upon a set of rules, which are available for adoption by anybody interested: They differ in pronunciation as well as meaning and usage, though you may have realized that Hindi speakers may not distinguish them systematically when writing in the Roman script, because, as native/competent speakers, they always know which one is meant, and there exists no standard Romanization of Hindi in wide use. On the other hand, "usse" (उससे) is wo+postposition se (वह+से). Both words exist in Hindi - "use" (उसे) is same as "us-ko" (उसको), i.e. equivalently, a short "s") rather than a doubled/geminated/long "s", i.e. I'd like to point out two points regarding the grammar:ġ) Though you are writing "usse", it really has only one "s" (i.e.
